Djembes N Jazz is a collective of
various artists, poets, jazz vocalists,
hand drummers and dancers based in
Miami, Florida . Will Brown is the
founder of the group. We bring to the
performing community a unique style and
presentation. We blend West African
rhythms into jazz classics to produce a
sound that is not typical in mainstream
music genres. This music is interpreted
through dance and accompanied with
poetry. Our structure is flexible, we
expand and contract according to the
event. We can be a jazz quartet,
featuring a drum set, keyboards, vocals
and bass to a three piece hand
drumming group. Our goal is to enrich
the lives of many through this art form.
